Goode is a Bigot and a Racist

Instead of denouncing Virgil Goode’s outrageous, hateful and ignorant comments about Islam and immigrants in general, local reactionary bloggers (SWAC Girl, Grievous Dog, et al) are fanning the flames of intolerance by attacking the “liberal media” and endorsing Goode’s insults. This Dog person went so far as to post photographs of an American being killed by terrorists as evidence that Goode is right. Stupid. Illogical. Hateful. Dangerous. (In case this is news to you, the choice of Muslim Representative-elect Ellison, D-MN, to be sworn in on the Koran instead of a Bible, prompted Virgil Goode to attack Islam, to declare that American values were being threatened, etc. and he went on to say that if we don't restrict immigration we'll end up with more Muslims in Congress; the fact that Ellison was born in Detroit and converted to Islam in college is barely relevant to the story, but does add to Goode's stupidity. Is there a mechanism to recall elected Congressmen? Because the voters of Virginia’s 5th Congressional District should let Virgil Goode know that his views are unacceptable.

I live in the 6th Congressional District and I call on Congressman Bob Goodlatte to denounce Virgil Goode’s statement.

And you, SWAC Girl, and you, Grievous Dog, you should both be disgusted with yourselves for spreading this kind of hate. You are wrong about so much, and you are wrong about this.
