End the War

Today is a march on Washington to oppose Bush's insane escalation of his arrogant war. See United for Justice with Peace. I'll be there in spirit.

I continue to be disgusted by the pro-war glorification of the killing of Iraqi's, akin to the grotesque body counts of the Vietnam era. The reactionaries are waging a genocidal war against Islam, justified on the patently false premise that all Moslems are terrorists. I hope the march today proves that the reactionaries are not representative of America, that not all of us are ignorant, that most of us believe that this war is not the right way forward.

End the War.

The speakers - namely Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon, looked like they fitted the bill of being the righteous hippies that they are - in dire need of a bath.

Hippies stink. The protest didn't accomplish much of anything. yesterday's news already.

Well, Steve, I'm sure you're an expert on the great unwashed, but I believe you're wrong about nothing being accomplished. We knew Bush wouldn't listen; he never does. But the world now knows that not all Americans are fascists. That gives me hope that we'll be able to rebuild bridges once Bush is run out of town.

No need to post this because it's not exactly post-related, but I thought you might want to take a look at this:

Believe it or not, some of us conservatives also don't like Bush too much, but it's all based on differing reasons than the left.

Mr. Beamish (the poster of the link above): A "compassionate conservative" is a liberal feeding you shit and swearing it's chocolate.

Wow. I went ahead and posted this because Mr. Crank or Mr. Beamish or whatever-his-name-is is a reminder of the totally crazy folks there are on the extreme right in this country. I'm not sure how far right you are on the spectrum, Steve, but "conservative" doesn't begin to describe Beamish. We need a new word.
